Welcome to Brazen Estates

Chuck with Emperor of Empathy

Brazen Estates was the longtime home of Chuck Gillet, where he made many creations of rusty iron and scrap.  Chuck was an attorney by trade and spent most of his career commuting to San Francisco to work as a regional counsel at Health and Human Services.  Chuck built the three story water tower you can see from the Glen Ellen Star (or Google Maps) in the early 80’s out of recycled wood he harvested from a water tower a Gilroy farmer wanted torn down.

Chuck wrote many columns for the Kenwood Press, and was good friends with another frequent contributor, Jim Shere.

Sadly, Chuck Gillet, aka Lord Brazen, passed away in 2021.

We have started an online gallery and are planning an outdoor sculpture garden with his work at the Estate. Chuck spent the last two decades of his life focused solely on his art, and not so much on taking care of the Estate, so we are focused on the monumental task of restoring it these past years.

If you are interested in knowing more about Chuck’s art, get in touch with us.
